Northern Alleghenies
Geologic Society

This Web Site is Under Construction

The Northern Alleghenies Geologic Society is an organization comprised of geologic and related professionals interested in the continued education and advancement of the geologic sciences. The organization is based in the Laurel Highlands and meets monthly in Ebensburg, Pennsylvania USA.

The membership is primarily from Western Pennsylvania including Armstrong, Blair, Bedford, Cambria, Indiana, Somerset, and Westmoreland Counties.

Some of the goals of our organization are to keep current on various geologic aspects, including advancements in the various fields of geology, keep informed of legislative policy which affects geologic professionals, maintain a network of professionals to assist in the dissemination of geological education and to create a social atmosphere in which to meet.

NAGS meets monthly from September through May (sometimes even into summer for field trips). We gather at the Noon Collins Inn on the last Friday of every month. When the last Friday falls on a holiday weekend the meeting is moved up a week.
